CPRE Oxford Green Belt Way Stage 2. Nuneham Courtenay to Abingdon Lock |

Where bridleway from Toot Baldon crosses A4074 (1) continue down drive to stile, then across field towards church and at road turn right (2). Follow road past Nuneham House on right and continue to New Cottage. Here turn left and at Keeper's Cottage turn right (3). Follow edge of wood and at footbridge turn right on to Thame Lane through New Covert. Coming out of wood (4) turn left on to hard surface track with Joint European Torus experimental building in view. After 220 yards (200m) turn right on to concrete road. Follow Thame Lane bordering Culham Science Centre, ignoring two branching private roads to the right, and turn right over railway bridge. Immediately turn right (5) and follow footpath beside railway until you reach the River Thames. Turn left and follow river for a little more than a mile, crossing footbridges to continue along riverbank to reach Abingdon Lock (6). |
